Grand Canyon North Rim Reopens with Limited Services
US · Published May 17, 2026
The North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park has officially reopened as of May 15, 2026, following recovery efforts from the 2025 Dragon Bravo Fire.
Key scenic drives, including Highway 67, Cape Royal, and Point Imperial Roads, are accessible, along with several iconic viewpoints.
The North Kaibab Trail is open for foot traffic, though stock use is suspended for the season.

Why It's Important?

Post-fire hazards, such as debris flows and unstable slopes, remain a concern in the North Rim area. Visitors should exercise caution, particularly during heavy rainfall or monsoon season, as flash floods and debris flows are more likely in burned areas. Limited services and infrastructure may also impact visitor convenience.
